EHSI Certified as Underutilized Business Enterprise (UDBE) for FHA Funded Projects

As of June 1, 2017 EHSI is certified as an underutilized disadvantaged business enterprise (UDBE) for projects funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHA). This is a new certification is due to changes in the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program that impact small and diverse business goals. Only UDBE firms will counted towards FHA funded transportation project goals. WSDOT has implemented this program to be in compliance with the Federal DBE program regulations.

EHSI is currently working on WSDOT’s Multi-modal Terminal Rennovation at Colman Dock in Seattle, WA providing hazardous materials surveys, specifications, abatement design, and third-party abatement oversight. Other WSDOT related transportation projects worked on by EHSI have included worker exposure monitoring for lead during construction at the Tacoma Narrows bridge, ambiant air monitoring during construction at SR520 floating bridge, hazardous materials surveys for a SR520 floating bridge pontoon. In addition, EHSI has provided hazardous materials surveys, underground storage tank (UST) closure oversight, and Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments for Sound Transit projects.
