EHSI has an immediate need for a Senior Industrial Hygienist in our Seattle, Washington office. EHSI has multiple long-term contracts to provide a wide range of occupational health and safety consulting services, including OSHA/WISHA compliance; indoor air quality; risk assessments; and identification, evaluation, design, and implementation of best health and safety practices at federal and private facilities throughout the Pacific Northwest. The Senior Industrial Hygienist will use technical and professional expertise to cost-effectively propose, manage, and successfully deliver client projects. In addition, this person will provide technical input into other discipline projects for industrial hygiene and regulatory compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in health science/chemistry/safety/risk management. Master’s/PhD degree preferred.
Five to ten years of professional experience; professional registration (CIH/CSP/CMC) preferred.
Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Working experience with federal agencies preferred.
Broad knowledge of OSHA/WISHA workplace compliance issues and project design development, estimating, and reporting.
In-depth knowledge of indoor air quality investigative and risk assessment protocols.
EHSI has an opening for a part-time air sampling technician to collect test samples in the early mornings. Candidate will drive an established route stopping at 6 or 7 outdoor stations in the greater Seattle area to collect samples and record data. Scope of duties includes computer data entry of data into a database. Mechanically inclined aptitude also a plus for periodic pump maintenance and repair. Some Software/IT experience is also a plus. This is a good opportunity for a student or a retiree. Weekly scheduled hours includes weekends with weekday days off. Hours are negotiable and can begin between 4:00-6:00 am and ends 10:00-11:00 am depending on route and traffic.
There is some physical activity involved and the employee may be expected to lift 50 lbs.The position requires a good driving record and must be a US citizen.
EHSI has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with at least 10 years of experience as a practicing CIH in industrial hygiene consulting. This individual will manage the Industrial Hygiene Group and oversee several small and large private and public sector projects. The CIH should demonstrate strong technical and business development skills and a constructive attitude toward managing and mentoring staff.
The position will be based out of EHSI’s Seattle office. Position duties include:
Perform exposure assessment projects for chemical (gases, vapors, aerosols, dust, etc.), biological, and physical hazards. Experience performing ergonomic assessments would be a plus.
Develop scope, scheduling, and budget IH projects for both public and private sector clients.
Managing numerous small and large projects.
Supervise broad range of projects and project teams.
Develop marketing strategies with senior management team.
Mentoring of young professionals and project managers.

Applicants must be US Citizens. Candidates must have current CIH certifications, 10+ years’ experience in commercial facility consulting, and BS in Environmental Science or related field, strong technical and project management skills, supervisory experience and be proficient in MS Word and Excel.
Additional desired qualifications include AutoCAD LT experience, lead assessor certification, and AHERA inspector, designer and management planner certifications.
